Where does a Witness come in a Marriage Registration?
Two witnesses are needed for your solemnisation. The details of the witnesses, that is their name as in their NRIC and their NRIC number, are needed at the point of registration. They do not need to be present for your registration. However, their presence are needed on the day of solemnisation.

If there are changes to your witnesses' details or there is a change of witness, you will need to inform the Registry personally at least 7 days before your marriage. If you have made an on-line application, you may change your witnesses' details here.
